Nathan and Elizabeth Carroll are high school sweethearts who had always dreamed of adopting through the foster care system. They married in 2005 and started teaching in Palmyra that same year, Nathan as an Art Teacher and Elizabeth teaching Special Education. In 2009 they surprisingly welcomed their biological daughter, Mya.

          The family started their pursuit of fostering in 2013 and on January 2nd, 2014 the call came that there were two brothers who needed an emergency placement. That is the night Landon (7) and Aydin (4) walked into their lives. Elizabeth quit her job as a teacher to stay home and concentrate on transitioning the family into this new stage. The boys were facing many obstacles; Autism, ADHD, neglect, and Anxiety to name a few. Then on January 12th, 2014 another call came, there was a 3 month old with multiple skull fractures needing an emergency placement. That infant was Jaxson, he faced approximately 57 doctors, specialist, and therapy appointments in his first year of life.

           None of these struggles, though tough, stopped the Carroll’s from becoming a family. In late 2015 all three boys were officially adopted into The Carroll Clan. We are happy to have a very positive relationship with the boy’s biological families and are excited for our futures together.
           You would think the story stops there but that wouldn’t be enough excitement for this family! Mya has always hoped for a sister so the family decided to start the search and have recently adopted a 9-year-old girl with fragile X and Autism. Stay tuned...
